Home Warranty | Is it worth having
Is a home warranty worth having?
Well, that depends. I live in a home that was build in the 1860's - plumbing went in during the early 1900's - so for me, YES is the easy answer. Here is a short video I made discussing most of this points.
My rule of thumb(s):
If the home is brand new, and still under the builders warranty, I most likely would not.
If the home is older than 3 years . . . then I start to think of the life cycle of major systems. I most likely would get one.
IF the home is really old, with origninal systems, now question - get one. A water heater - in 2026 - can cost $2500-3000 to install. HVAC systems, 8-9k!
